About Us
Mayo Technology Solutions (MTS) was formed in 1999 by Bartlett Mayo to provide quality
commercial and residential technical support.
Bart has been in the computer field since 1988. Along the way he found himself
frequently providing computer support to family and friends (usually for boxes of
oreo cookies, which he still receives occasionally from his father).
In the late 1990s Bart was serving as
a field tech for a company
in the Silicon Valley area of San Francisco doing business and residential computer repair.
In early 1999 he accepted a transfer to
Johnson City in Northeastern Tennessee. It was then that he decided to form his own
part-time consulting company named BDM Consulting to fill the need in his community
for affordable computer repair services.
In May 2000 Bart met his future bride Jean (online, appropriately enough!).
Later that year they married and Bart moved to the
Knoxville area, where he continued to work part-time for BDM Consulting in addition to his
full-time work for ClientLogic. In 2004 we changed our company name to
Mayo Technology Solutions, and since that time Bart has been a full-time consultant.

Jean's love of computers started when she obtained her undergradutate degree in
Marine Science in 1985, one course shy of having a minor in Computer Science.
After several years of working at the University of South Carolina, Coastal Carolina
College she made the move back to Tennessee where she was employed as an environmental
chemistry technician for Lockheed Martin. During this time she began taking computer
science classes at Pellissippi State Technical Community College. Following a layoff
in 1997, she was able to complete her 2 year degree and obtain an internship at Jacobs
Engineering in Oak Ridge. After graduation, she was hired by Jacobs where she
worked as a web developer and programmer for the next 8 years. She began part-time,
intermittent web design and development work for Mayo Technology Solutions in 2004. She is currently employed by High Jump Software, a 3M company.
